What Does a Deck or Fence Cost in Eugene?
Most contractors won’t tell you this directly. We will. The numbers below are based on what we actually build in Eugene and Springfield.

Composite Deck Cost in Eugene, Oregon
Composite Deck Cost: The Short Answer
Most composite deck projects in Eugene range from $18,000 to $55,000+, depending on size, material tier, railing system, and site conditions. The median Tekton deck project is around $20,000.
Fence Cost in Eugene, Oregon
Fence Cost: The Short Answer
Most fence projects in Eugene and Springfield run $18 to $90 per linear foot installed, depending on style, height and what the ground is doing. A six-foot cedar privacy fence is the most common job we build.
What Moves the Number
The posts, not the boards. Depth, spacing and whether they are wood or steel matter more to the price — and to how long the fence stays plumb — than anything above them.
Slope. Stepping a fence down a grade takes more posts, more cuts and more time than running it across flat ground.
Gates. Each one is hardware plus framing. A double drive gate costs considerably more than a walk gate.
Height. Six feet needs more material and deeper posts than four.
Access. Whether a truck can reach the fence line or every post and panel gets carried in by hand.
Tear-out. Removing and hauling away an old fence is real labour, and it is priced in rather than sprung on you later.
Outdoor Living Cost in Eugene, Oregon
Outdoor Living Cost: The Short Answer
Pergolas, lighting and built-ins are add-ons to a deck project, and what they cost depends far more on span, fixture count and linear feet than on the feature itself. Here is what moves the number on each.

The Fixed-Price Promise — What’s in Every Proposal
Every Tekton project comes with a fixed-price quote and a five-year structural guarantee. Every relevant specification and material is spelled out before we start — no ballparks, no surprises, no change-order games.
How accurate is a phone estimate?
Not very — and we’ll tell you that honestly. The only way to give an accurate fixed-price quote is a site visit.
What happens if you find problems under my existing deck during demo?
We stop and walk you through exactly what we found before proceeding.
Why don’t you quote a price per square foot?
Because two decks of the same size can be twenty thousand dollars apart. Material tier, railing system, height off the ground and what we find under the old structure all move the number more than square footage does.
Is the fixed price really fixed?
Yes. The price in the proposal is the price. The only things that change it are you changing the scope, or something genuinely hidden turning up — and if that happens we stop and show you before any work continues.
Do I need a permit, and is it in the quote?
It depends on the height and the location, and it is one of the things we identify at the site visit. Whatever your project needs is spelled out in the proposal, so it is not something you find out about later.
Why does composite cost more than wood up front?
The boards cost several times what pressure-treated lumber costs, and the framing underneath has to be built to a tighter standard to carry them. What you buy for that is no sanding, no staining, and no annual weekend spent on maintenance.
